Army Composition

As we are an ITC event, we follow most of the ITC rulings, however there are a number of alterations. Please find our complete ruling system below.

  • 1,750pts armies
  • Battle Forged armies, only. No Unbound lists.
  • Each player’s list MUST contain either a combined arms detachment (CAD) or their respective army based detachment (e.g. Grey Knights Nemesis Strike Force). In addition to this they may be accompanied by, a maximum of, one additional formation (i.e. May not contain an additional detachment).
  • Formation based detachments (e.g. Necron Decurion, Space Marine Gladius Strike Force, etc) will not be allowed.
  • The allied detachment is not allowed.
  • All armies must be comprised from a single faction codex. The only exceptions to this rule are units from any of the following codices: Cult Mechanicus, Skitarii, Imperial Knights, Harlequins, Genestealer Cult, Khorne Daemonkin, Militarum Tempestus, Legion of the Damned & Inquisition. These codices may be used in conjunction with a detachment or formation, from a faction who they are considered to be Battle Brothers with. Supplement codices are also allowed and count as using their parent codex.
  • Players have a maximum of 400 points that they may spend on Lords of War.
  • Fortifications are not allowed.
  • Formations or detachments that are comprised of a single model can be nominated to be either a detachment or formation irrespective of which it is. (e.g. an imperial knight from an Oathsworn Detachment comprised of one model can be nominated to be your armies formation despite being a detachment)
  • All Imperial Knights can be chosen as a lord of war for a CAD on any imperial army, including AdMech.

  • All current source material is allowed, including GW Codexes, Data Slates, Formations, current and experimental Forge World units. The Forge World army lists below are allowed. Please note, Horus Heresy/30K Forge World units are not allowed.
    • Army lists in Imperial Armor 14: The Siege of Vraks: The Death Korps of Krieg and Renegades of Vraks.
    • Army lists in Imperial Armor 13: War Machines of the Lost and the Damned: Renegades and Heretics.
    • Army lists in Imperial Armor 12: Minotaurs Chapter, and the Death Korps of Kreig Assault Bridage. Note: All units in these Army List are played exactly as they are listed, points cost, stats, etc. You can notuse the stats or points cost listed in the respective Codicies, even in the case where a unit has the same name unless noted otherwise.
    • Exception: The Dark Harvest army list is not allowed, although 40k approved units in it that can be purchased outside of the Dark Harvest detachment, are allowed.
    • Army lists in Imperial Armor 11: Eldar Corsairs
    • Army lists in Imperial Armor 4, 2nd Ed: Detachment D-99 and the Red Scorpions Chapter Tactics and Characters. Note: The Inquisitorial Experimental Detachment Warlord Trait bonus and penalties may be selected at the beginning of each game.
    • Army lists in Imperial Armor 3, 2nd Ed: Elysian Drop Troops and Imperial Guard Tallarn upgrade and Mukaali Rough Riders. Note: All units in this Army List are played exactly as they are listed, points cost, stats, etc. You cannotuse the stats or points cost listed in Codex: Astra Militarum even in the case where a unit has the same name unless noted otherwise.

o    Exception: Where units are listed as having the Junior or Senior Officer special rules, reference the Voice of Command rules in Codex: Astra Militarum.

  • Army lists in Imperial Armor 1, 2nd Ed: Armored Battle Group. Note: All units in this Army List are played exactly as they are listed, points cost, stats, etc. You cannotuse the stats or points cost listed in Codex: Astra Militarum even in the case where a unit has the same name.
  • Regardless of Detachment/formation, no more than 1 Super Heavy/Gargantuan Lord of War may be taken in your army.
  • Selection Criteria: We use the following guidelines to determine which Super Heavy/Gargantuan Creature LoW are allowed into the ITC format. A LoW choice is allowed so long as it does not violate any of the following:
  • It has a larger than 5″ blast D Weapon.
  • It has a Hellstorm Template weapon with Torrent.
  • It has a larger than 5″ blast weapon that ignores cover.
  • Is a Super Heavy Flyer or Flying Gargantuan Creature.
  • It has a “Titan” stat line. We mean by this LoW that have a stat line similar to or better than any of the Titan class Super Heavy Vehicles (Warhound, Revenant, etc.), Titan class Gargantuan Creatures (Hierophant), or Daemon Lords.
  • Exception: If a LoW has easy access to means to violate the above criteria such as through Psychic Powers, or wargear such as Marker Lights paired with a LoW with a larger than 5″ blast weapon, etc. In the case that we can simply disallow the wargear item we do that instead such as with the Battle of Keylak Legacy of Glory on Imperial LoW.
  • Exception: We allow units that violate one or more of the above guidelines in if they prove to not be overwhelming in power. To date, this has only been done to allow in some Super Heavy Flyers.
  • If one player has a Super Heavy/Gargantuan LoW and the other does not, the player without can roll on the Escalation Warlord Table and gains +1 to Seize the Initiative.
  • For every 3 Hull Points/Wounds dealt to a Super Heavy/Gargantuan Creature LoW, the player dealing the damage earns a bonus maelstrom point.
  • Allowed Super Heavy/Gargantuan LoW (Note: all non-super heavy/gargantuan LoW are allowed, such as Dante or Azrael.)

FAQ

Modelling and Painting

  • Armies must accurately represent their unit type and are required to be strictly WYSIWYG. Wargear that may be visible must be displayed clearly on the model.
  • If you intend to use any converted models, you will need to email snbattlereports@hotmail.com to confirm whether they are suitable or not.
  • Armies must be fully assembled, painted and based to a level approved as satisfactory by the SN Team.

Terrain

  • Terrain:Terrain will be defined by the SN admins prior to the start of the event. Tables wil be setup in advance, and players will not be allowed to alter or move the terrain in any way (not even by any special rules that allow a player to do so).
  • Mysterious Terrain rules are not used.

Missions

Note: Please be aware that we are still investigating whether or not to include the Death from the Skies supplement into our games.

The standard ITC missions and scenarios will not be used, but rather will be replaced with the following:

+ Maelstrom objectives are all setup in advance and equidistant to each other. They may not be moved at any point.

+ There are 4 objectives for scenarios that are using the mission Crusade and Big Guns Never Tire (2 objectives to be placed by each player)

+ Objectives from the primary missions must be placed within 12″ from a table edge and at least 6″ away from a maelstrom objective.

+ Units cannot be holding both a primary mission objective and maelstrom objective. At this point the player must nominate which objective they are claiming at the end of their player turn.

+ Night fighting is rolled by a tournament adjudicator and applied to all games for that round.

SCORING

+  There will be 5 games played during the course of the tournament.

+  Each game will consist of three missions; A Primary, Secondary and Tertiary, which will be scored as follows:

Primary Mission: 14vp (Eternal War Mission)

Secondary Mission: 8vp (Maelstrom Mission)

Tertiary Mission: 6vp

+  In the case of a draw on any of the missions, both players will get half the points for that mission.

+  When drawing your maelstrom cards, if there is absolutely zero possibility of achieving the objective, you may immediately discard it and draw a new card. That being said, if there is even the slightest remote possibility of achieving the mission, regardless of how slim or ludicrous it may be, then you must accept the card.

+  All maelstrom cards that are worth D3 points are automatically worth 2, and cards worth D6 are worth 3.

+  All games will be played using the Dawn of War deployment.

+  No mysterious objectives would be used.

+  Once the final scores are recorded, In the case of a tie break, players will be ranked depending upon who has gained the most logistical points from all their games collectively. Logistical points are the points value of a unit that has been completely destroyed. Units only partially removed grant no points to the opponent.

+  First blood will be replaced with “First Strike”. You gain a point if you managed to kill a unit on your first turn
