Battle Report (Night Lords vs Imperial Fists)

Herrian flexed the foot long razored digits of his left claw, his right claw embedded in the ruined wall of a bombed out second storey hovel is all that kept him from plummeting to the debris strewn ground. The fall posed no threat to him but the noise would alert his quarry. He could see them approaching in perfect serried ranks down the central thoroughfare. So alike in their resplendent yellow power armour. So inferior in their adherence to honour and duty. Their path would lead them past Herrian’s hide in less than a minute. The rest of his squad waited impatiently, Gerduns helm twitched periodically and Herrian could imagine the feral smile and hungry eyes hidden within, his lust for murder growing into something else… Something not in keeping with the legion’s ways. Not that there was a legion anymore. Herrian shifted his legs beneath him, bringing up his boots and pressing them against the wall just beneath his embedded claw. The rest of his squad copied his actions. Each one now poised to leap upon their unsuspecting foe, their armours powered down to render their energy signatures invisible to auspex. The column of Imperial Fists approached in standard protection formation. Fools were making it too easy. It was evident that they were escorting something of worth, their protocols hadn’t changed in millennia, dogmatic lapdogs. You can’t fool a dark mirror of yourselves Herrian smiled. He would take their bauble not because he wanted it for himself but to take something of worth from them. Because it was what they feared. Failure. Holding his legs as tightly as he could he activated his armour and the power field of his lightning claws with a thought as he launched himself into a powered leap, an ear splitting shriek emitted from his vox grille as he descended on his prey, claws splayed out like murderous wings to his sides.

If you haven’t heard about these guys before, firstly how have you not?! Secondly, you’re missing the best video Battle Reports on the net hands down!

After a long while, our founders are going to be battling it out. An SN Battle Reports of S vs N! Steven and Nick, vying for power, will be treating you all to an impressive report.

With such a beautiful table set up by the team it was rude not to take an extra closeup picture of the setup. Here we have a Restricted area crates depot closely guarded by the Imperium Statue who towers over the abandoned city roads. Ohh man this is so cool!

As you can see below the introduction which, by the way, another awesome intro to the report by our Amazing Steven Garcia. So far that’s more than 60 custom intro fluff written by him! What a legend *loud roar by the crowd*. We have a special scenario here for you today utilising the central main road, where there are a convoy of walking Imperial Fists coming back from a patrol. Just wanted you to see the Imperial Fists deployment before we get into the report a bit more as it just looked epic. Just imagine these guys parading through the abandoned ruined city.

As yellow turns to orange in the warm light of the sunset, the Imperial Fists continue marching through a ruined city. Night seems to have fallen somewhat sooner than usual and an eerie mist has set in. Suddenly the suns warm embrace turns into a sharp discomfort. A halt is ordered… something is awry.

Soon after, the captain orders his men to march onward but not to let their guard down. “Be on the lookout men, there’s something in that mist!”

Nick begins setting up in the ruins keeping within the Dawn of War deployment. Soon to emerge from the mist, the Night Lords ready their attack.

The devoted cultists creep around the ruins, making sure they make good use of the remaining walls to stay out of sight. The less stealthy Landraider stays further back, little downside to this as it has long range weaponry. The other flank is taken by the Demolisher, slowly inching forwards though the thick mist whilst the Marines take the centre with their lord following closely behind.

Rolling highest, Nick is set to go first but Steven slows him down as he rolls for the seize. He fails, then using a command point to re-roll, trying his luck with a TTT dice, but still fails…”Happy with that life choice?”

Turn 1 (Night Lords)

Here we see the “double trouble” that is Nick and Karim in their movement phase.
