Battle Report (Craftworlds vs Grey Knights)

The arid dust plains of Ondis trembled as another thunderous double clap shook the planet from its very core to its sparse atmosphere. The last vestiges of Imperial settlement abandoned half a millennia before under mysterious circumstances tumbled into rubble as the planet sized shockwave swept over them. The colossal dust storms caused by the last disturbance had barely begun to subside when the sonic phenomena struck again sending a ripple of motion through the sands of Ondis’ endless deserts. This time the motion continued and the desert began to twist and turn forming huge glyphs visible from orbit that burned white hot with power. When the atmosphere shuddered once more with thunder it was impossible to mistake it for anything else anymore. A monstrous heartbeat. A nascent god like power was stirring beneath the planet-like surface of Ondis. It’s birthing spasms slowly ripping the billions of years of stellar creation that had hid it’s true nature under trillions of tons of rock and dust.
Such a thing did not go unnoticed. Such power could not be birthed without irrevocably changing the very nature of the galaxy. Already two forces sped towards Ondis to see this new god stillborn. One skimmed through the labrynthine dimension of the webway, the other thundered through the hard vacuum of space in crenellated, gothic ships. Both had been forewarned by the visions of their farseers and prognosticars. Both believed that they and they alone could arrest the birth of a God.

As a new day dawns on the SN Studio, the team set up the battlefield for the upcoming battle report. SN’s very own Nick looks to battle John Causton and his masterfully painted Craftworld army, with Nick using John’s old Grey Knight army which was bought off of John some time back! With a table set up expertly once again by the team, we look to get the battle under way!
The ruins of the battle-torn city still house Imperial barrels filled with munitions which would benefit the Grey Knights greatly. Meanwhile, the Craftworld forces look to seize them, if only to deny the Imperium of Man their use. These barrels scattered around the battlefield will be the objectives that both forces look to capture.
The Grey Knights deploy wide across the board, looking to defend Lord Kaldor Draigo in the process. He is flanked by Razorbacks to both his left and his right, as their Twin Assault Cannons begin to survey the battlefield for any worthwhile targets. On the far left, a Grand Master stands harnessed tightly into a Nemesis Dreadknight.
Soaring above in the skies, a Stormraven Gunship keeps watch vigilantly, as it looks to provide the Grey Knights with fire support from above against the nimble Craftworld forces.
On the other side of the battlefield, the Craftworld forces begin to emerge from almost nothingness. The silent and nimble Craftworld skimmers line up behind the ruins, looking to avert the oncoming fire from the Grey Knights as much as possible in the opening rounds of combat.
To combat the Grey Knight Stormraven Gunship, the Craftworld bring along one of their own flyers, looking to dominate the skies above the battlefield. The Hemlock Wraithfighter hums as it hovers in position over the buildings, looking to jet through the air at a moment’s notice and into the fray.
Both players roll off, which sees Nick and his Grey Knights winning the roll! John confidently grabs a hold of a nearby die and rolls, scoring a 6 and stealing the initiative! Craftworlds get Turn 1!
Before the battle begins, the Rangers deploy high on one of the floors of the nearby ruined buildings. The elusive Rangers scouted this location days in advance, ensuring that it is the perfect vantage point for the battle. John has done a marvellous job of customising and converting his very own Rangers for his force. That along with the insane paintjob on his entire army are just some of the reasons we got him over to feature them in a battle report. Awesome work John!
Turn 1 (Craftworlds)

The Shadow Spectres begin to move along the battlefield, accompanied by the Windriders, the jump infantry attempting to keep up with the incredible movement of the jetbikes.

Turn 1 (Craftworlds)

The Wave Serpent silently skims up the board, making its way right up into the middle of the battlefield, it’s Twin Shuriken Cannon now in range of the Grey Knight forces!

Turn 1 (Craftworlds)

Following suite, the Hemlock Wraithfighter zooms up the board, finding itself staring at the Grand Master strapped into the Nemesis Dreadknight. Despite the incredible speed at which the flyer travelled, it arrives at its destination without making any audible sound, before halting exactly where the pilot wishes to, lining up for the upcoming round of shooting.

Turn 1 (Craftworlds)

The Farseer Skyrunner wastes no time in zooming up the battlefield, accompanied by the Windriders. Channeling it’s Psychic Powers through the Witchblade, the Farseer points at the Stormraven. The Psyker’s powers manifesting and firing at it, as he casts Doom on the Stormraven, an aura surrounding the Grey Knight flyer allowing Eldar units to re-roll failed wounds. To finish off their Psychic Phase, the Farseer then casts Guide on the Windriders next to him, letting them re-roll failed hits when they fire!

Turn 1 (Craftworlds)

One of the Fire Prisms lock onto one of Nick’s Razorbacks. The coordinates are relayed to the other Fire Prism pilot, asking for them to assist in firing. John spends 1 Command Point to use the Linked Fire stratagem, allowing both Fire Prisms to combine their firepower into one, letting them re-roll both failed hits and wounds, before resolving its normal shooting. This devastating Stratagem allows John and his Fire Prisms to destroy the Razorback with ease, the Prism Cannon’s Focused profile tearing through the Razorback, as it pierces the thick armoured plates of the Grey Knight transport, picking up First Blood for John! Over on the other side of the battlefield, the Hemlock Wraithfighter unloads its ranged weaponry at the Stormraven, stripping off a total of 9 wounds from it, leaving it on just 5 left!

Turn 1 (Craftworlds)

As the Razorback is torn through by the Prism Cannons, the Grey Knights within look to vacate the vehicle. The inner workings of the Razorback begin to malfunction, causing explosions within the vehicle. In a moment’s notice, one of the Grey Knights kick open one of the side doors from the inside, allowing the unit to escape. As they all manage to make their way out of it, the vehicle explodes into a burning wreck behind them in dramatic fashion. Luckily for Nick, there are no casualties from this at all.

Turn 1 (Grey Knights)

Onto Grey Knights Turn 1, we see the Stormraven Gunship flying right ahead towards the remainder of the Craftworld forces, ignoring the Hemlock Wraithfighter and other units which advanced forwards!

Turn 1 (Grey Knights)

The Grey Knight Strike Squads begin to advance into the ranks of the Craftworld. A second unit of Grey Knights also disembarks from a Razorback, eyes set on the Wave Serpent closest to them. Both units cast their Smites at the Wave Serpent, dealing a total of 4 wounds to the Craftworld transport!

Turn 1 (Grey Knights)

In a moment’s notice, the Grey Knight Strike Squad is relocated on the battlefield with the Psychic Power Gate of Infinity, disappearing from their location with the blink of an eye. Just as quickly as they disappeared, they reappear on the left flank of the Craftworld forces, as Nick looks to assault and begin tying up some of John’s units so they cannot fire.

Turn 1 (Grey Knights)

The Grand Master in Nemesis Dreadknight fires at the Hemlock Wraithfighter, hoping to blow it out of the skies. The combined firepower of the Gatling Psilencer and Heavy Psycannon manages to wound an impressive 6 times. However, John rolls his saves, matching the impressiveness of Nick’s roll by making 5 out of the 6 saves given to him!

Turn 1 (Grey Knights)

The Razorback turret pivots and scans the battlefield for enemies. Soon enough, it finds the unit of Windriders in its sights, unleashing the Twin Assault Cannon into them, slaying two of them as the bullets smash into the hulls of the jetbikes, sending them hurdling into nearby ruins. Meanwhile, the Strike Squad in front of the Razorback fire their Storm Bolters at the Rangers in the ruins nearby. Despite the Rangers’ attempts to stay concealed, the Grey Knights manage to locate them, killing a total of 3 of them!

Turn 1 (Grey Knights)

The Stormraven Gunship fires its mass arsenal of weaponry at one of the Fire Prisms, the armoured flying weapon battery only managing to deal a total of 8 wounds to the Fire Prism, leaving it with 4 wounds! Not quite enough to kill it off!

Turn 1 (Grey Knights)

The Grey Knight Strike Squad now look to fire at the Wave Serpent in front of them. Nick cleverly spends 2 Command Points and uses the Psybolt Ammunition Stratagem, giving all of their weapons an extra -1 to their AP values. This allows the Grey Knight unit to strip off an additional 2 wounds from the Wave Serpent!

Turn 1 (Grey Knights)

Wasting no time, Kaldor Draigo leads the nearby Strike Squad into combat, as they both charge the Wave Serpent. Before the Strike Squad get to even react, the Grey Knight Chapter Master buries The Titansword into the centre of the hull of the Wave Serpent, the empowered weapon tearing through the hull of the Craftworld transport with ease as he channels his might into each and every consecutive strike at the vehicle, before reducing it to a heaped mess on the ground. Out of the transport, emerge a unit of Dire Avengers, now staring directly at both Draigo and the Strike Squad.

On the other side of the battlefield, Nick fails to make his charge with the unit that transported with the help of Gate of Infinity. He spends a Command Point to re-roll one of his rolls, but fails it again. At the end of Turn 1, it’s 2 Victory Points for Nick and 3 for John!
Turn 2 (Craftworlds)

The colourful Aspect Warriors of the Craftworld now look to enter the fray. They advance using the Battle Focus rule, allowing them to fire normally, the Dire Avengers now supported by a unit of Fire Dragons to their left!

Turn 2 (Craftworlds)

The Hemlock Wraithfighter continues to fly around the battlefield. It turns, before zooming right up near the Strike Squad and Kaldor Draigo.

Turn 2 (Craftworlds)

A bolt of blinding light appears atop one of the ruined buildings. The light dims down, and from it, appear a unit of Dark Reaper Aspect Warriors, arriving onto the battlefield through the Webway Strike Stratagem.

Turn 2 (Craftworlds)

Similarly to the last turn, the Farseer Skyrunner once again casts Doom on the Stormraven, looking to finally destroy the flyer. The Farseer then attempts to cast Smite on the Stormraven too, however John does not manage to make the roll necessary to manifest the Psychic Power.

Turn 2 (Craftworlds)

The second Farseer Skyrunner positions themselves perfectly, flanking up alongside the Strike Squad. The Farseer manifests their Psychic powers towards the Grey Knight unit, casting Smite on them. This time, John rolls an 11 on the cast, dealing a d6 wounds instead. John manages to roll a 6 for this, killing the entire unit outright, as the Farseer extends their hand and sends multiple bolts of psychic energy at the unit!

Turn 2 (Craftworlds)

The newly arrived Dark Reapers’ first target is the Stormraven Gunship. They fire their Reaper Launchers, accompanied by the Exarch’s Tempest Launcher at the flyer, the hard hitting unit managing to take down the the Stormraven. The huge flyer hurdles to the ground, picking up speed every second it falls. The heavy impact causes one Terminator to be lost as a casualty, as the remaining Terminators scramble out of the wreckage.

Turn 2 (Craftworlds)

Next, the Shadow Spectres lock onto the nearby Strike Squad. Firing their handheld Prism Rifles, they fire at the Grey Knight unit, slaying 2 from the unit, thinning out Nick’s forces slowly!

Turn 2 (Craftworlds)

Seeing the Shadow Spectres firing at one of the Strike Squads, another one of the Windrider Jetbike units fire at the same unit. Their Shuriken weaponry make light work of the Power Armoured Grey Knights, as the thin, yet razor sharp disk-like projectiles pierce through the armour of the unit, hitting most of their vital spots, as 2 more Strike troops are slain from the same unit.

Turn 2 (Craftworlds)

The Dire Avengers and Fire Dragons coordinate their fire at Draigo, knowing that they have enough firepower to take down the Chapter Master. A hail of shuriken catapult fire, along with the Fire Dragon melta weaponry creates a massive dust cloud at the feet of Kaldor Draigo. The Craftworld units seize fire momentarily, awaiting for the dust to settle. To their surprise, they see Draigo still standing, kneeling behind the cover of his Storm Shield, the Chapter Master panting heavily as a streak of blood makes its way out of his mouth. They manage to deal a total of 3 wounds to him, Nick managing to make a lot of successful invulnerable saves against the Fire Dragons, which would have otherwise spelled the demise of Kaldor Draigo!

Turn 2 (Craftworlds)

Once again, the two Fire Prisms link their shot with the Linked Fire Stratagem, costing John yet another Command Point. The shots land on one of the Nemesis Dreadknights, sending the lumbering walker stumbling backwards in its steps, the Prism Cannon not managing to make it’s way cleanly through the armour of the hardy Dreadknight, as it leaves it on 4 wounds!

Turn 2 (Grey Knights)

The Grey Knights begin to close the distance between themselves and the Craftworld forces, as the Grey Knight Strike Squad steadily make their way across the battlefield, weapons at the ready for their upcoming encounter with the foul Xenos.

Turn 2 (Grey Knights)

One of the Razorbacks maneuvers through the narrow spacing between the ruined buildings of the battle-torn city. It sharply turns and rears out in front of one of the buildings, a clear shot lined up to one of the Windrider Jetbike units. Its Twin Assault Cannons begin to spin, as the rounds are fed into the weapon, before unloading across the battlefield at the Jetbikes. The giant munitions hurdle through the air towards the frail Craftworld unit, shooting two down from the skies, sending them off into nearby ruins violently. A good burst of shooting sees the Razorback killing 2 of the Jetbikes from the unit!

Turn 2 (Grey Knights)

A loud and abrupt shock tears through the skies of this world. From the Teleportarium, arrives the second Grand Master, harnessed into the Nemesis Dreadknight securely. The giant walker towers over all of the Craftworld units, even comparable in size to some of the ruins. In the Psychic Phase, the newly arrived Grand Master casts Sanctuary on themselves, as a shimmering aura engulfs the walker wholly. This gives it a +1 to its Invulnerable Save, giving it added survivability!

Turn 2 (Grey Knights)

In a momentary blur, the two remaining members of one of the Strike Squads are Gated through onto the middle of the battlefield, the Gate of Infinity Psychic Power tearing the very fabrics of reality and distorting them, allowing the Grey Knights to reappear near the ruins where one lonely Ranger stands. They both aim their Storm Bolters up to him, unleashing a heavy torrent of bolter fire, slaying the final one. This grants Nick an extra Victory Point for the mission!

Turn 2 (Grey Knights)

The next Razorback then follows suit, firing at the same Windrider unit as the previous Razorback. Twin Assault Cannons firmly locked on the target, they follow its movements precisely as it attempts to weave in and out of ruins, hoping to dodge the oncoming attack. As the spray of bullets begin to leave the Razorback’s turret, a total of three of them hit centre mass on the Jetbike, causing the frail hull of the Windrider Jetbike to explode, the extreme heat coming off of the engine being enough to melt through the flexible armoured plating of the Craftworld pilot, earning Nick yet another Victory Point! Things are looking up for the Grey Knights now!

And here we have an overhead view of the battlefield before the Assault Phase. As you can see, the centre of the board is still dominated by John and his Craftworld, however can the arrival of the second Grand Master give Nick that much needed support in the upcoming turns?
Turn 2 (Grey Knights)

Without hesitation, the Grey Knight Strike Squad charge head-on at the Fire Dragons. The Aspect Warrior’s powerful weaponry take a moment to charge up before firing, however, that moment was all the Grey Knights needed. They reach the combat, Force Halberds tightly gripped in their digits, swinging them ferociously at the Fire Dragons, easily cleaving the agile unit. The Exarch finds himself on his lonesome, as he hesitantly looks at his surroundings for a way to escape. The Grey Knight Justicar kicks the Exarch up against the wall, the impact knocking the breath out of the Fire Dragon’s lungs. Before even getting the opportunity to compose himself, the Justicar runs his Force Halberd through the chest of the Exarch, the psycho-sensitive material of the Aspect Armour trying to absorb as much of the force as possible, before caving in on itself, the Halberd now shimmering with Psychic energy as the Justicar tosses the now dead Exarch to one side like a simple rag-doll!

Turn 2 (Grey Knights)

After the impressive performance by the Strike Squad, Kaldor Draigo looks to enact the same outcome. Alone and willingly, he charges into the Dire Avengers unit. They fire their Avenger Shuriken Catapults at the Grey Knight Chapter Master, but to no avail, as he raises his Storm Shield, trivially deflecting all of the incoming projectiles, before locking himself in combat with the unit. The Dire Avengers are totally awestruck, as the legendary Kaldor Draigo stands in their stead, imposing himself upon them. The Titansword shimmers, as he swings it powerfully, however, with a hint of grace at the Dire Avengers, the Relic weapon entrusted to Draigo cleaving through the Aspect Warriors menially, with only the Dire Avengers Exarch surviving the onslaught!

Turn 2 (Grey Knights)

With an incredibly proactive turn coming from Nick, he looks to enforce his presence on the board further. He charges his Terminator Squad up into the Rangers that hid atop of one of the ruined buildings. With great might, the Terminators begin to cleave and hack away at the Ranger unit, their bloodsoaked garments pose as remnants of the massacre, as the entire unit is removed by the Terminators from the game! A very intense turn for Nick sees him picking off some valuable Craftworld units from John. Coming up to Craftworlds Turn 3, we shall have to see how John reacts to this and, we shall also see if he is able to stabilise the situation somewhat!

Turn 3 (Craftworlds)

The majority of the Craftworld forces remain stationary, with the exception of the Dire Avenger Exarch, who falls back out of combat from Draigo, making him the prime target now. John’s Psychic Phase begins and both the Farseer Skyrunner, along with the Spiritseer begin to manifest their energy into Smite. They both fire bolts of Psychic energy at the Chapter Master, hitting him in two waves. The first from the Spiritseer hits Draigo, shocking him and stunning him slightly in place, before regaining his composure. This is short lived however, as the Farseer then sends their own Smite at Kaldor Draigo, the second one being far more potent due to the concentrated Psychic Power of the Farseer, as the jolts of energy begin to flow through the Chapter Master. After a momentary lapse, the energy bursts out from within the armour, giant exit wounds clearly visible from the Terminator Armour that Draigo so proudly dons. The Chapter Master is slain!

Turn 3 (Craftworlds)

After managing to slay Kaldor Draigo, John then targets another one of the monumental threats he faces on the battlefield; the first Nemesis Dreadknight. The two Heavy D-Scythes fire at the towering colossus, the rays of distortion hitting the Grand Master, as it begins to rip his very soul from his being. The Grand Master experiences the excruciating pain of the taboo Craftworld weaponry, before coming to a halting silence, the arms of the Grand Master simply dropping to his sides, before the entire Dreadknight slumps over onto the ground. Yet another kill for John, as he removes a major threat from the Grey Knights force!

Turn 3 (Craftworlds)

The Fire Prism turret begins to pivot, until finally facing one of the Razorbacks. The Prism Cannon begins to gleam brightly, before firing at the Grey Knight transport. The shot however, is not as accurate as the Craftworld forces would have hoped, managing to hit the front of the hull’s reinforced plating, only managing to deal a total of 3 wounds to it.

Turn 3 (Grey Knights)

With the game being put back into the hands of the Grey Knights, Nick looks to capitalise on every advantage he can. The fresh Grand Master in the Nemesis Dreadknight begins to forge its way towards the Fire Prism, looking to rid the foul Xenos skimmer from the battlefield. Nick moves it right alongside the skimmer, in order to charge it in the Assault Phase. Beforehand however, the Warlord fires its wrist-mounted arsenal at the Jetbikes atop the ruins. A giant burst of Psilencer fire and Psycannon shots strike against the Jetbikes, killing 2 of them in the process. Pleased with the shooting, the Dreadknight now turns its attention to the real threat; the Fire Prism. The Grand Master charges into the skimmer. The Dreadknight’s free hand grabs hold of the Prism cannon and, with a tight squeeze, the fragile acceleration chamber of the Prism Cannon is shattered. Likewise, the Grand Master swings  his right arm, with the Nemesis Dreadknight mimicking the movement, the Nemesis Greatsword tearing through the grav platform of the Fire Prism, a loud screeching echoing through the entire battlefield as the sword wrenches free from the hull of the skimmer, before following up with an overhead swing, hitting the Fire Prism center mass, causing the internal combustion units of the Fire Prism to explode, as the skimmer is left a fiery heap on the battlefield!

Turn 3 (Grey Knights)

The Grey Knight Terminators look to continue with the great momentum, as they set their sights on the next Ranger unit. They fire their wrist-mounted Storm Bolters, claiming the life of one more Ranger, before charging into them. The Rangers seek cover behind the corner of the ruins, waiting silently in hopes that the Terminators would overshoot their location, as they meld into their surroundings. The Terminators, however, are not fooled, as they reach around the corner, the swing of one of their Halberds backed by such tremendous force pins both of them up against the wall, as the sharp blade of the weapon cleaves both of their torsos in half. Yet another dead Craftworld unit!

Turn 3 (Grey Knights)

With both forces dwindling after a very heated three turns, Nick looks to finish off even more of the important Craftworld units. The lone Strike Squad Justicar charges into the Spiritseer. The mighty swing of the Justicar strikes the Spiritseer forcefully, dealing 2 wounds to her! At the end of Nick’s Turn 3, he manages to once again gain 3 Victory Points in total!

Turn 4 (Craftworlds)

With the Grey Knight forces closing in on the majority of the ground units of the Craftworld, the Hemlock Wraithfighter turns its attention to them, zooming through the skies of the battlefield into the heated battle!

Turn 4 (Craftworlds)

The Autarch swiftly manages to get away from the main battle, seeking refuge behind a nearby wall which also houses the objective. They use this as a moment of respite, allowing John to gain control of the objective in order to earn him some more Victory Points.

Turn 4 (Craftworlds)

The Farseer casts Doom on the Nemesis Dreadknight, allowing units attacking the Dreadknight to re-roll failed wounds against it. Following that, the Hemlock Wraithfighter casts Smite on the Dreadknight, dealing a total of 2 wounds to the Warlord. The Hemlock Wraithfighter then also fires at the Dreadknight, however Nick manages to make all of his Invulnerable Saves!

Turn 4 (Craftworlds)

The Dark Reapers then take aim at the Terminator Squad, the Aspect Warriors excelling at killing heavy infantry. As they fire their Reaper Launcher and Tempest Launcher at the Terminators, a cascading torrent of artillery impacts the heavily armoured Terminators, claiming the lives of two of them!

Turn 4 (Grey Knights)

Without hesitation, the Grey Knight Terminators continue to venture deep into enemy lines, their sights set on the Dark Reapers which previously claimed the lives of their brethren, as they look to exact vengeance on the Craftworld Aspect Warriors!

Turn 4 (Grey Knights)

The Grand Master in Nemesis Dreadknight rears around the corner of the ruins, as he fires at the lone Dire Avengers Exarch. The mass amount of firepower proves to be too much for the Exarch, as he gets buried in a torrent of Psycannon ammunition!

Turn 4 (Grey Knights)

The Grand Master also notices the recent arrival of the Hemlock Wraithfighter in the vicinity of the battlefield, aiming it’s Gatling Psilencer at it. The wrist-mounted weapon fires a volley of high-powered munitions which crashes into the side of the flyer’s hull, dealing a total of 6 wounds to it!

Turn 4 (Grey Knights)

The Terminator Squad charge into the second Fire Prism, knowing that once the second skimmer is destroyed, the Craftworld forces would be severely hampered. The Terminators charge full force towards it, their Force Halberds ripping through the thin armoured panels of the grav platform, blowing it up and removing yet another Craftworld unit from the board!

Turn 5 (Craftworlds)

As the Grey Knight forces continue to encroach upon the Craftworld army, John decides to back himself up and gather up what remains of his army together, in an effort to focus fire some of Nick’s units. In the Psychic Phase, Doom is once again cast on the Dreadknight. John then attempts to cast Smite twice on the Dreadknight, in an attempt to knock off some wounds from it. However, with some incredible rolling from Nick, he manages to deny both of the casts, as the Grey Knight brotherhood of psykers intercept the minds of the Craftworld Psykers!

Turn 5 (Craftworlds)

The Shadow Spectres loom over the battlefield, firing into the lone Strike Squad Justicar. Their handheld Prism Rifles fire a myriad of coloured beams from them, as they branch out and pierce the Power Armour of the Grey Knight, removing it from the battlefield!

Turn 5 (Craftworlds)

The Hemlock Wraithfighter continues pressing the attack on the Grey Knight forces. Aiming at the second Grand Master in Nemesis Dreadknight, with both of it’s Heavy D-Scythes. In similar fashion as the previous Dreadknight, the weapons fire directly into the Grand Master’s chest. The Warlord attempts to overcome the weapons firepower. The Grand Master struggles to keep his soul entombed within himself. Finally, however, the Grand Master can no longer withstand the pain, as his soul is torn from his very being! Slay the Warlord and yet another monstrous threat removed from the Grey Knights side! Meanwhile, the Dark Reapers manage to remove yet another Terminator from the battlefield!

Turn 5 (Grey Knights)

The Terminators now seek higher ground in order to fire at the Dark Reapers. In the Psychic Phase, they cast Smite on the Aspect Warriors, managing to kill one of them immediately!

Turn 5 (Grey Knights)

In what could be the final round of shooting for Nick and his Grey Knights, the Razorback fires at the Autarch. The barrage of lead from the Twin Assault Cannons proves to be too much for the Craftworld master tactician, as his frail stature folds to the intense firepower of the Grey Knight Razorback!

As Turn 5 comes to a close for Nick, he rolls off to see if the game continues into Turn 6. The die is rolled and… it’s a 2, meaning that the game ends! Both players tally up their total Victory Points, with John totaling 19, and Nick grabbing a total of 21! Victory to Nick and his Grey Knights in what has been an absolutely amazing game! Well played to both players!
Nick: Grey Knights new list! With a whole lot of Bolters and 36 Assault Cannon shots, this list just hits like a truck from the 24″ point. Last report with the Knights saw a miserable defeat to the T’au and suffering to the gun line meta, but with 2 Grand Masters in Nemesis Dreadknights putting out a massive amount of shooting themselves and being a magnet of fire power, this new list gives me a lot more strategic options as well as forcing the opponent to focus Toughness 7 vehicles, as if left unchecked will shoot me an army down fairly quick! Not bad for a bottom tier army!!
John: With this being only my 5th game in 8th, it was a close one which I cant really complain about! Back and forth all the way through with a lot of learning curves. This force lacked the close combat abilities that the Grey Knights love and I really struggled once they were in the Craftworld’s faces which I think was what won Nick the game in the end. Nick knows how to play a good game and I really enjoyed it. Massive thanks to the SN team for having me over cant wait for the next one.
