Battle Report (Blood Angels vs Tau Empire)

A score of red armoured transhuman warriors made ready for war as they had done hundreds of times before. Gauntleted hands moved with well practiced precision as they stripped and cleaned their weapons of Quattara II’s omnipresent dust. The expert observer might have noticed the furtive glances and the general unease of the Astartes towards they that dwelt in their midst. Ten giants knelt in a half circle, their armour painted abyssal black and surmounted by red saltires, their helms bowed in silent communion with the dark figure standing before them. His armour mirrored their own though his helm was fashioned in the form of a flayed skull, it’s rictus grin coupled with the lambent green flow of its optics gifted the bearer with a demented visage fit to afflict any mortal who beheld him with nightmares of death and blood. The gathered Sons of Sanguinius saw past the macabre trappings of the chaplain, they saw the monster that dwelt within the armour and they knew fear. Lemartes, Guardian of the Lost led his damned host in prayer with his winged crozius held high above his head. The dread catechisms and liturgies he recited were for the Death Companies ears only and all the other Blood Angels gave silent thanks to their angelic father that the Death Companies vox had been isolated from their own. They shuddered at the thought of hearing the slurred or manic voices of their lost brethren. To be reminded that if death did not take them then madness certainly would. To know that as mighty and beatific as they were, they could fall to depths undreamt of by all Astartes still loyal to the Emperor. Lemartes swept his crozius down in what must have been the crescendo of his private oratory. In ragged order the Death Company stood and hefted their weapons, barely restrained violence writ large in their movements. Lemartes, an island of eerie calm in a storm-tossed sea of rage, turned smartly on his heel and triggered his jump pack sending high on a column of flame. Barely moments later the rest of the Death Company took to the skies after their dark sheppard and all sane decendants of the angel gave thanks for their departure and for their sacrifice. Their deaths, their relief from their curse would by the rest of them time to enact the plan.

Hello ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the SN Studio, bringing you yet another battle report. The team set up this board today in the same fashion as it will be for the GT, so if you are participating, make sure to keep your eye out for it! Today’s report will feature a lot of interesting things. For starters, we have SN’s very own Nathan, more commonly known as Shaggy piloting the Studio T’au forces. On the opposing side, are the team of Steven; not to be mistaken by our other Steven, and Lawrence. Steven Garcia is the guy that writes the fabulous intros for every report, whilst Lawrence is one of SN’s local painters. They’ve always played together and this game is no different. As mentioned, the T’au are finally back after an incredibly long hiatus, so it will be interesting to see how the game pans out. The mission for today’s battle is Retrieval, meaning there are 4 Objectives on the board, each worth 3 Victory Points at the end of the game. So with that said and done, let’s get this show on the road.
