Battle Report (Ynnari vs Deathguard)

The song of entropy. Inescapable and immutable. Death embraced before its coming. A gruesome fate greeted with mirth. Life riddled with rot.
Ursien’s eyes snapped open as he severed his connection with the realm of dreams with a supreme effort of will. Sweat permeated his body and soaked through his robes of office making them stick to his lithe form. His chest heaved as he sucked in great lungfuls of scented air and his soul stone pulsed uncomfortably hot against his breast. With a slight shake of his head he attempted to stand, an act devoid of any of the grace the Aeldarii were famed for. He reached for a richly decorated crystal flute and a decanter of cool water only to behold his hands shaking almost uncontrollably. Ursien closed his eyes and tried to instil some modicum of rhythm to his mortal body though it resisted him fiercely. He brought his breathing under regulation and slowly felt the tremors subside as he ascended the the mantric spheres of calming. He beheld his soul to be calm like a still pond were before it had been a tempestuous sea. He opened his almond shaped eyes as he exhaled lightly between pursed lips feeling peace and serenity coursing through his body like a zephyr, his soul stone now a reassuringly cool presence. Then and only then did he dare to dwell on what the dream state had revealed to him, the horrors that had driven him to the precipice of the lost and damned. A cavalcade of monsters each more vile than the last, and at their core, more horrifying than anything Ursien had seen before, lay one of the fallen sons of the mon’keigh emperor. He shuddered despite his trance induced state at that recollection. Such dark majesty, such horrifying power, such evil intent. Around this avatar of the dark gods marched cohorts of his equally damned sons. Hulking brutes in crude armour that buckled from within as their occupants forms swelled with their dark patron’s dubious gifts. The sight of these shambolic and distended champions of the Plague God filled Ursien with loathing and dread. He smoothed the creases from his robes with his long fingers and began framing arguments in his mind as he strode out of his meditation chamber, the dark interior of his sanctum giving way to the golden light that suffused the rest of his gently vaulted demesne. He strode towards the iris portal that led to the Columnade of Isha and beyond that the majestic domes of the Palace of Crystal Seers where the war council would no doubt be debating the current and future course of the craft worlds conflicts. He would stop their incessant squabbling for he had seen their end coming for them but, crucially, he had glimpsed something else in his portent and at this recollection his pace quickened and a ghost of a smile played on his thin lips.

Good afternoon and welcome back once more to the SN Studio, where we will showcase the infamous Death Guard against the Aeldari. In today’s report, we will be seeing the Ynnari for the first time ever on SN Battle Reports! Today’s mission is yet another from Chapter Approved, this time; Four Pillars, where each army will attempt to capture important data pertaining to the enemy force in hopes of gaining an advantage over the other.
The light-footed Death Jester perches themselves upon the top of one of the buildings, the leather from their boots clapping against the hard metal floor softly with each step, as they find their optimal vantage point a top the derelict facility.
A light droning hum becomes audible from the distance. In a matter of seconds, a unit of Skyweavers emerge, Zephyrglaives at hand.
