Battle Report (Admech vs Necrons)

Machine battled machine, the soulless and everliving vying against an unnatural union of flesh and metal. The necrodermis clad phalanxes of the Necrons marched in perfect lockstep in eerily precise formation, their massed ranks interspersed with their larger kin who drifted forward on advanced grav drives. Where warrior or construct fell to the arcing energy blasts of their foe, the formation as a whole readjusted to compensate without word or order being given, the unfortunate casualty already reassembling, necrodermis running like mercury to undo any damage, appendages blasted clean off whipped back into place by a terrible unseen force. In mere seconds it had resumed its place in the formation serving its lord beyond death many, many times over, its unbreakable loyalty and dedication subroutines hardcoded into its very being, its existence forever deemed worthless by its near immortal and malignly sentient master.
The skitarii cohorts of the Mechanicum moved up in skirmishing order in contrast to their regimented foes. Individuals linked together by arcane science but still retaining a spark of independent thought, they darted between cover and fired off aimed volleys all the while communicating via binnaric cant. Spider-limbed dune crawlers scrambled forwards amongst the foot soldiers directing arcs of lightning at their foes serried ranks before retreating again to recharge their power cells and to avoid return fire. Kataphron servitors in heavy tracked chassis rumbled just behind the front lines providing heavy fire support to the skitarii, their biological consciousness entirely slaved to their ordanances demands. Mighty kastellans strode into the fray, weapon arms raised and spitting forth a furious fusilade as they enacted the arch magos’ commands without hesitation or indeed thought.
The differing machine hosts closed on each other, gauss blasts and galvanic rifle fire reaching a terrible crescendo as two armies lacking in mortality reaped a fearful tally in murderous volley after murderous volley. At the point of decision, where immortal alien cunning and unwavering logic dictated that the encounter would be won or lost, the rival phaeron and arch magos lead their host in person to force the matter once and for all.
